Portfolio Piece - The King's Sceptre
This is level I created in Unreal Engine 4. The player explores a village, then descends down into a dungeon whereby they must find the treasure, the king's sceptre. The basic process was as follows:
​
-The general narrative and key moments were established via a mind map
-Using BSP, first a grey block mesh was created to playtest the level and establish navigation & scale
-All gameplay was then scripted using Blueprints - fall damage, object pickups & puzzles etc.
-Using modular asset packs, the level was then built fully on top of the grey block mesh
-A lighting & post-processing pass, which includes separate post-process volumes for indoor and outdoor sections
-Finally, an introduction cutscene was created by animating cameras in Sequencer
